Anatomy of the Natural Lashes
-
Anagen (Active Growth)
During the first phase of the lashes. The lashes are actively growing for around 30-45 days. Approximatley 40% of your lashes are in this phase at any given time. Each lash will continue to grow until a specific length and then stop.
-
Catagen (Transition)
The second phase in the lash cycle is the Catagen phase, this is where the lash reaches its desired length and stops growing, and the follicle gets smaller. This phase lasts about 2-3 weeks. Should a lash fall out during the catagen stage, it would not grow back until this phase is complete.
-
Telogen (Resting)
The resting/shedding period is known as the Telogon phase, which lasts about 3-4 months. Around this time a new hair begins to grow from the follicle, eventually pushing and replacing the old hair.
